Boots & Fall walks
Andrew and I decided that once a week (more if possible) on his day off we’ll go for a hike/walk. Fall is my favorite time to be out in the woods, and Jude loves to ride in the back pack carrier as well as explore on foot, although much more slowly than we might normally go! Good for the body, good for the soul to be out in nature. I love decorating in fall and winter with things I find outside- here’s a bowl with a few pine cones and bright green moss we found on our walk last week at the county park…
…and here’s Judo with his black boots, happy as can be!
I’m also looking forward to exploring a few farms within about 15 minutes of us for apples and pumpkins. I should probably throw watching football in there too on our list of favorite fall things for Andrew, since this is football season after all! What are your favorite things to do in fall?
I love to start burning my candles again in the fall. I love to walk through the leaves and listen to the crunching sound. I love the ’smells’ of fall ~ apples, pumpkins, and more!! Of course I love to welcome a new ‘crop’ of students into my Kindergarten class each Fall.

He’s wearing the boots!!! How did you get him to do that? Remember how he cried when you first tried?
As you know, we don’t have a distinct ‘fall’ season here. I miss it. My favorite part was always the beautiful changing colors of the trees, and the distinct smell of autumn…

Oh yes those boots! It was so funny how he would NOT walk in them when I first put them on when you guys were here. I had set them on a shelf in his room and one night when we were playing in his room he asked to wear them, and kept them on until he went to sleep, then the next morning wanted to wear them again and loves them! I think some things are just on his terms only- such a little personality!:)
I use to burn pumpkin and apple candles in Eureka to make it feel like fall and LOVED the pumpkin patch (out in Arcata)- Andrew and I use to go before we had Jude and love to go with him now too.

Mums- remember one year when I lived in Kona and you sent me a box of crisp fall Seattle leaves? That was really special for me and I still remember it to this day:)
