Tissue please
Judo came down with a nasty little bug yesterday afternoon and has wanted nothing but to be held and cuddled today. He has a fever and runny nose and a light cough, poor baby. I’ve been giving him some medicine but also wanted to share some natural remedies that I like as well that can be used safely on children or adults. The best things for any illness is to drink plenty of water and keep hydrated and rest.

Lemon & honey- honey coats and soothes the throat and can be used alone in children over 1 or combined with lemon in a tea. Lemon fights congestion. |
*Lukewarm baths- help take down a fever
*Eat easily digested foods- soups, yogurt, fruit, etc.
*Cool compresses to the forehead are soothing and help bring down a fever.
*An herbal spray made with 4 oz. water and 2 drops of either lavender, chamomile, or thyme combined in a spritz bottle can be sprayed onto the back or limbs for a soothing and cooling effect.

Papa has always made the honey & lemon warm drink for me when I’ve had colds. It’s the best.
Our prayers are with Jude for a speedy recovery!

I remember him making it for me too and it was so comforting.

Yippe! I’m all for the home remedies and love getting new ideas! One of the things I love about them, and the ones that I posted about on my blog too, is that almost all of these items are in my home/kitchen already…so they’re easy to whip up!
Thanks for posting these, and lets keep exchanging when we come across new ones!
