It’s beginning to look a lot like…
I get a huge amount of satisfaction from seeing my boy’s clothes so dirty after he’s been playing outside that I have to change him when he comes in. I think this stems from my desire for him to love the outdoors as much as I always have and my belief that kids should spend lots of time outdoors exploring, digging, getting messy, and just being kids. When I was growing up we lived in front of what seemed like endless woods and a path through them that led down to a creek where a whole other world seemed to await us. We made tunnels through blackberry patches and mud pies in the garden. I can’t wait to plant our garden this year and let Jude help me pick fresh tomatoes and zucchini and see our garden grow.
It’s sprinkling this morning and Jude is happily painting at the table next to me, he’s on a painting kick lately I guess. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I wish more parents had the same thoughts about children playing outdoors and getting dirty!!

So glad that you guys are getting some spring weather too! It really lifts the spirits and after a loooooong winter I sure am ready for spring and summer to arrive in full force!
I know you’re getting down to the end of your journey with your little munchkin and I’m sure the entire family is so excited to meet him!
I’ll be checking back regularly and your entire family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this exciting time!
BIG hugs from Norway!

I sure miss being able to watch him grow up in person. I want to ‘invent’ my own world and have everyone I love live within a short drive of each other. You take such wonderfully expressive photos to put online to give us the little glimpses into Jude’s (and yours) world of exploration and learning and living.
I agree with you and “Mumsy” and was also blessed to live in a world that I could run through the woods, build forts in the bushes and learn about the natural world around me. And dreamed about being the person in “My Side of the Mountain” or “Swiss Family Robinson”, at the very least taking Laura Ingalls Wilder’s life for my own experience.
Believe it or not, and I have pictures to prove it, there was fresh snow on the hills around Scotia this weekend too! Down to less than 1000 feet! What a spring! What a wonderful world…
