Two weeks old & time for a bath!

Clean and happy!

Owen is already 2 weeks old! Jude is adjusting more, Owen is nursing like the milk is about to dry up, Andrew has been able to help me catch up on sleep in the mornings, and I’ve even done a load of laundry! At this point in my life it’s the little things that feel like a huge accomplishment- like a clean load of laundry. Folded? Not necessary. Put away? Maybe in a few days. But it’s CLEAN!:)
We took Owen in for his 2 week check up yesterday and he has gained yet more weight! He is now 11 lbs, 1 oz! The check up was quick and everything looks great. (Although I question their record keeping as the nurse read through our computerized chart saying, ’so you’ve had the hep B shot at the hospital…’ and went on reading- I didn’t have time to correct her because it seemed she was in a big hurry. No hospital, no shots yet or for a while!)
Today we decided we should wash away the curdled milk smell and get Owen’s newborn smell back so he had his first bath- and didn’t cry at all during or after. He actually seemed really relaxed afterward and I lathered him up with oil, remembering all the infant massage I did when Jude was a baby. Enjoy the pics!

I think he might outgrow this ‘tub’ a bit quicker than Jude did…

Slippery when wet!

Don’t you just want to squeeze those cheeks?!!

  1. Yes, I do want to just squeeze those sweet cheeks. Oh my, he IS growing fast and YES - I think you’ll need a new bath space for him SOON!! He’s got that baby ‘chub’ cuteness for sure!!

  2. Just catching up on your blog and I am so impressed with your birth story! Wow! 9 lbs, 9 oz is a big baby, and that you did it all at home is incredible! My baby #2 is due at the end of July. I’m not planning a home birth, but hopefully med-free again. It is really sweet to see Jude with his baby brother. I’m nervous about Hayden’s reaction. The photos are precious. Owen is a beautiful name! Congratulations!

  3. What a DOLL! And yes, that bathtub is looking a little cramped already! Too funny! Good to know that he’s putting on weight so quickly though, probably puts you a little more at ease when it comes to feeds…even though with number 2 you’re probably a pro already!
Imagine my surprise when I went to the post box yesterday and had gotten a package from the Radebaugh girls!!! You both are TOO sweet! I adore everything you sent and have it all washed up and ready to go!
Nell’s already been in the sweatshirt that your mom sent and I absolutely love the pj from your family! I have a serious ladybug thing, so it was just perfect!
Please send me a mail with your and your mom’s address if you will…I want to send a proper thank you your way!
    Hugs from Norway!

  4. Thinking about you and Marit everyday, with your new babies!

Seems like only yesterday you were playing dolls together outside the trailers at Norway Park!
Owen is darling. Keep up the Good Work Mamma!
