I’d rather have the flu

Filed under: General - Foosh @ 9:45 pm

I’ve never been vaccinated for the flu. I think I’ve probably had it once in the last 15 years - at least the bad kind. One reason I’ve never had a flu shot is because I’d rather be hit in the knee with a baseball bat than have a needle stuck in my arm. The other is I’d rather have diarrhea than have mercury injected into my system along with a small amount of the actual flu.

So then there’s this swine flu thing everyone’s freaking out about. There was a local guy here who got it and by the time he found out he actually had H1N1 he was over it. No oinking or skin melting off. Nothing. A friend of a friend also had it and while you are thinking I’m about to say his stomach exploded and an alien pig crawled out, he actually recovered in a few days.

This Fall you’ll have the opportunity to get vaccinated for it, but before you do check out this useful Q & A on the vaccination. One thing you might notice is that the government is so anxious to get the vaccination out that they have given a legal exemption to pharmaceuticals from being sued if the vaccination they create has ‘unexpected’ side affects. Pretty comforting eh?

UPDATE:
Here’s a follow up article by CNN’s Dr. Gupta that is very balanced on the whole H1N1 deal.

  1. A lady in Humboldt just died from it. But like most people she had pre-existing conditions.

  2. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying be happy and care free. People have died from it, but as you mentioned, most of them have conditions that make them susceptible. It’s pretty astounding actually the amount of people who die from the ‘regular’ flu each year.

  5. “there can be no argument that unnecessary mass injection of millions of children with a vaccine containing an adjuvant known to cause a host of debilitating autoimmune diseases is a reckless, dangerous plan” - See article here: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/08/04/Squalene-The-Swine-Flu-Vaccines-Dirty-Little-Secret-Exposed.aspx

  6. Wise advice….more people died from toaster accidents in the USA (some 700) than the flu. Unless you have ore-existing conditions that are of concern it’s probably NBD. And the media driven fenzy makes people into witless blobs….
